As much as I hate to do this, I will no longer be giving out my email address on the website, if you would like to contact me, please fill out this form here: Contact Me Form
I hate to be one of those ratteries that does this, it seems really inpersonal and I strive to have a good, human relationship with adopters, but I've been getting a lot of really nasty spam emails lately, so I have to do the message form. I'm still open to talking back and forth with other rat lovers, and will email you back right away when I read your message, as long as it is not rude or dirty. Once I email you back, you are more then welcome to emailing me back to my email address.
My name is Leslie and Bleu Royale Rattery is based in Sacramento, CA.
We started out in May 2004 but we've had rats long before that, for over ten years. The first rattery adopted rats were Tatiana, a blue varigated dumbo velveteen,, Andrew, a self black dumbo velveteen, and Constantine a platinum velveteen dumbo, from Angel Paws Rattery. We adopted another rat later on, named Xenia, a black hooded. Later on more rats adopted us.
In May 2004 I decided to have a litter of 'baby rats'. Andrew and Xenia were bred together and to my surprised we had a litter of 6 females, 1 male. All were black berkshires, standard ear. Two were velveteen rex. It was then I decided to study genetics.
Four and a half years later I am now a well established rattery breeding blues, siamese, burmese and fawn. We have rex, velveteen and standard fur, dumbo and standard ears and some say ears in between. I still have that foundation line, and actually know what to expect now when I decide to put two rats together. I like to consider myself well educated in the world of rats but I'm learning every day. I work well with three great rattery friends, CandiRats, Amour Petite and MoonStone Haven. I am in constant correspondence with two other great ratterys, Ratz Realm and Bloomingfield, and hope to work closely with Sleepy Hollow and Bloomingfield someday. My rats are healthy, well socialized and unique. Whenever anything questionable pops up in temperment or personality I will let any adopter know. I will stop breeding lines if any tumor appears to be genetic. Within 4 and a half years of breeding, only 3 rats have come down with tumor, and only one with cancer. In my opinion that is pretty good :-)
